The Zdeněk Sklenář exhibition: Let the Rose Bushes and Peach Trees Bloom is an important celebration of painting. It presents a retrospective of Sklenář’s masterpiece paintings from both state and private collections. Also included are the famous “Sklenář abstractions” with their characteristic layered lines. Realistic images are enciphered in their structures, gleaming like precious gems within the abstract space. They were created in silence, in privacy, with a deep comprehension of the sense and nature of phenomena. With intense self-discipline and concentration, the painter-alchemist created his own unique painterly style,inimitable and much admired.
